Pocono Garden Club to Hold Flower Show and Plant Sale July 9
The Pocono Garden Club’s popular Flower Show and Plant Sale is back and at a new location. After a two-year, Covid-related hiatus, the annual show and sale will be held on Saturday July 9, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 158 Fish Hill Road, Tannersville. Titled “A Magical Kingdom, Disney in Flowers,” the show will feature floral arrangements, made by members, depicting Disney related themes. Samples of club members’ prized horticulture and houseplants also will be on display. Speakers will be: Taylor Breinich of Bartlett Tree Experts in Emmaus, at 11 a.m., discussing Caring for Woody Plants; and Pamela Hubbard of Pam’s English Cottage Garden in Effort at 2 p.m., presenting on Gardening With Children.
Ongoing through the day will be the club’s extensive plant sale featuring perennials, trees, shrubs, houseplants, herbs and more grown by club members and local friends in their own gardens and homes. Also featured will be: a Marketplace offering assorted new and gently used garden- and plant-related items at bargain prices; Tricky Tray silent auction; door prizes; raffle; bake sale, and more. Proceed beneficiaries include the Garden of Giving which grows fresh produce for food-insecure local people; and youth camp scholarships to Quiet Valley Living History Farm and the Monroe County Conservation District. Admission is $4 for adults.
